Jeep® has been recognised as a 2018 “Cult Brand” Honoree at the annual The Gathering (Society of Cult Brands). Jeep is the first and only automotive brand to be recognised by the association. Eight brands and their leaders, were honoured at The Gathering in Banff, Alberta for their outstanding courage and unconventional thinking in achieving enviable brand engagement and reaping the benefits of cult-like status.

“Having the Jeep brand acknowledged as a Cult Brand Honoree is a testament to the people, who since 1941, have dedicated themselves to building the world’s most capable SUVs, whose off-road capability is second to none,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA.

“The global Jeep community is like no other. There is no other automotive brand that is so instantly recognisable and woven into the history of its home nation yet recognised around the world, and one that is protected with such a passion by its owners, fans and followers.”

Founded in 2013, The Gathering focuses on honouring the principles and practices employed by the world’s most successful brands, which have come to dominate their industries or categories by winning the irrational loyalty and devotion of customers and fans the world over.

“Other automotive brands have been nominated over the years, but it’s so fitting that Jeep is the first Cult Brand Honoree,” said Chris Kneeland, co-founder of The Gathering and Chair of the Brand Selection Committee. “It’s an iconic brand with vehicles that stand apart from any other in the automotive category. Their marketing, product innovation and customer engagement are best-of-breed and represent exactly how cult brands foster internal and external brand engagement.”

Built on more than 75 years of legendary heritage, Jeep is the authentic SUV with class-leading capability, craftsmanship and versatility for people who seek extraordinary journeys. The Jeep brand delivers an open invitation to live life to the fullest by offering a full line of vehicles that continue to provide owners with a sense of security to handle any journey with confidence.

The latest addition to the Jeep range in the Middle East, and available in showrooms across the region from April this year, is the Jeep Compass, the all-new compact SUV that offers an unmatched combination of attributes, including – legendary, best-in-class 4×4 off-road capability; contemporary and authentic Jeep design; excellent on-road driving dynamics; open-air freedom; great interior and cargo space plus a full array of advanced user-friendly connectivity and safety technologies.

Powered by a 2.4-litre Tigershark petrol engine with MultiAir2 technology, it delivers 172 horsepower at 6,400 rpm, 237 Nm of torque and is paired to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Superior on-road driving dynamics result from its architecture, fully independent suspensions, segment-exclusive frequency damping front-and-rear-strut system and precise electric power steering.

Recently awarded the maximum five-star EuroNCAP rating, it offers more than 70 active and passive safety systems and for added protection, boasts a “safety cage” construction with more than 65 percent of high-strength steel – this not only contributes to crashworthiness, but is further evidence of a level of engineering sophistication that makes this vehicle the most capable small SUV ever.

In addition to Europe’s leading safety rating, the Compass also earned a Top Safety Pick rating from the US Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS), achieving “good” ratings in each of five demanding IIHS tests that evaluate crashworthiness. Its available Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) technology also earned a grade of “superior.” Each is the highest possible IIHS rating in its category.

Inside the Compass, which comfortably seats five adults, sophisticated interior details define your driving experience. Available premium LED ambient lighting adds an inviting aura inside the cabin, while clean, sculpted forms and elegant Piano Black and anodized Silver bezels with chrome knobs add upscale distinction.

Thoughtful, useful standard features such as the fold-forward front passenger seat and 60/40 split-folding rear seats plus the available power rear lift gate and innovative height adjustable cargo floor that allows you to lower the rear cargo floor to accommodate the transport of taller items or raise the floor to help ease load-ins and create a level carrying surface, mean that you can configure the interior to fit your specific needs.
